About the event
The Clarkson Institute Mathematical Competition 2026 brought together students from around the world to tackle a challenging examination designed to assess mathematical reasoning, problem-solving ability, and intellectual curiosity beyond the standard school curriculum.
This year’s competition attracted 420 candidates from over 250 schools across more than 80 cities, with examinations conducted through 11 test centres worldwide. Participants represented a wide range of academic backgrounds, including A-Level, IB, AP, DSE, and other international curricula.
Unlike traditional mathematics examinations that focus primarily on technical proficiency, the Clarkson examination was designed to reward students who could think independently, construct logical arguments, and apply mathematical ideas to unfamiliar situations.
The competition serves as a platform to identify and nurture the next generation of mathematical thinkers in an era increasingly shaped by artificial intelligence and advanced technologies.
